Join Us for a November Full of STEM Dates to Remember!

The retail world already may be gearing up for the festive upcoming season, but we’re putting a halt on those holiday happenings until we can properly celebrate some of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education events going on all across the east coast this November.

Though it’s only the first week of the month, we’ve already attended two great STEM events in the Pittsburgh region. Earlier this week, we attended a monthly STEM-educator networking event at the Environmental Charter School at TRETCFrick Park. The meeting, which was sponsored by Remake Learning, was a great opportunity to meet up and share ideas with other community STEM education promoters.

Also this week, we attended the 2015 Three Rivers Educational Technology Conference (TRETC) at Bethel Park High School in Pittsburgh. With workshops on everything from 3D printing and gaming to entrepreneurship and programming, you can bet this event was packed with STEM, STEM and STEM!

But, we’re just getting started! Here’s a quick list of even more STEM in store for November:

  • November 7: EdCampPGH is a day-long “unconference” for passionate educators to meet and share knowledge and experiences of the subjects that matter most to them. Executive Director Nathan Field will be there to discuss our hands-on inventing curriculum!
  • CalendarNovember 12: The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Area Conference kicks off in Philadelphia. For the second year in a row, we look forward to meeting with thousands of educators who are enthusiastic about STEM education!
  • November 19: CareerTech Vision 2015 is a four-day event in New Orleans put on by the Association for Career & Technical Education. We’re sending Executive Director Nathan Field to the conference, which is “packed with hundreds of sessions, a comprehensive Expo and a rich array of networking opportunities.”
  • November 20: The Society of Elementary Presidential Awardees’ (SEPA) Professional Weekend is hosting “Presidential Awardees Building Connection to the Future” in Landsdowne, VA. On their agenda? The Inventionland®Education curriculum and all the STEM education opportunities it offers! Director of Client Services Katie Doas will be on hand to network with SEPA attendees.

Among all of that traveling this month, we’re also excited to welcome international visitors to our creative space next week, too! Stay tuned for more details on their visit and all of the STEM education events we’ll be at this November!
